The North Rim is awesome. The drive up through the Kaibab forest alone is worth going there. My brother and I hiked from the North Rim during the first week of November 2003. We were the only people in the park except for a bunch of wild turkeys and a guy living out of his car, heading south to Mexico.
Got caught in a fast-moving snowstorm that raced across the canyon at us...took us many hours crawling through blinding snow to reach our car and drive to Page, Arizona to see Glen Canyon.
Alright people really need to calm down with the "I trekked through an ancient Babylonian death gauntlet in the Amazonian desert for 16 weeks to get this photo" titles
