The recent avatar update for Pokémon GO hasn’t been good for anyone. Many players took to Reddit to complain about the update and how it ruined the look of their characters. Many pointed out how their avatars looked boxy, their crotch was dropped, and their limbs looked awkward and lanky. It seems more issues have been raised as one fan pointed out that their favorite emote looked terrible after the update. Niantic’s response to this was a potential strike with the ban hammer and the community is understandably upset.

User TheLiterateCat posted on Reddit about their latest experience with Niantic’s customer service. They messaged customer service stating that their “favorite pose looks completely off after the avatar change.” Pointing out that the pose has the “hands hovering over the hips instead of touching them,” the user asked Niantic for a refund of their spent PokéCoins. In-game support doesn’t answer anymore and won’t close convo

Niantic responded with the standard message that it would review the request. Unfortunately, that request fell on deaf ears as no response was ever given. At least, not one that was any form of helpful. After multiple messages from TheLiterateCat, Niantic failed to respond. Finally, the user got a response but it wasn’t what they were hoping for. Instead of a solution to their issue, the company stated that it could not help with the issue and that the user should rework their avatar to make the pose function properly.

After multiple failed attempts to make the pose work correctly, TheLiterateCat reached out once more. Again, their request fell on deaf ears as nobody answered for some time. They asked for the conversation to be closed with no luck as well. Instead, they received an email stating that their “account has violated the terms of service.”

One user responded to the post saying, “It’s bots all the way down. They just spam automated, pre-programmed responses, not once will you actually talk to a human. It’s a disgrace.” Another commented, “Wow wtf! Gross behavior on their end. I’d share this all over Twitter. Best of luck. That’s unfair.” One more user responded with “I don’t think they can or will ban you. must be a message mix-up.” One thing is certain, the update hasn’t been good for anyone.

I am trying to do a password reset. During the process, it says I’ll get an email with a security number. I never received it. Tried many many times and I never receive an email so I can’t advance any further.

I contacted Niantic via email stating my problem and how I am unable to change password.

That was 3 weeks ago and have yet to hear back from them.

I'm sorry, did I accidentally get a decade old headline?
