Development on Sega and Atlus’ next entry in the Persona role-playing game series, Persona 6, is 95% complete, and the game is allegedly set for release in 2025 with long-term DLC support planned.

According to Reset Era insider Head on the Block, formerly known as Im a Hero Too on the forum, development on Persona 6 is 95% complete, and the game is set to be released sometime in the year 2025 along with DLC.

The insider shared that Atlus is looking at DLC from the perspective of being able to have smaller content on a consistent basis because development is taking longer, and post-launch content is very lucrative. They mentioned that development of Persona 6 was paused for some time in order to make sure there was a 2 to 3 year roadmap for DLC. As per them, in terms of the bigger picture, Sega wants every franchise to have some longevity with Live Service and DLC. They said that some games will work while others won’t, but so far the buzz has been “good”.

As always, we urge our readers to take such rumors and speculation with a grain of salt until there is confirmation from official channels. That said, the insider does have a decent track record. They were the first to leak the information regarding Persona 3 Reload and Persona 5 Tactica, and them being announced at an Xbox Showcase. They were also the first to leak details regarding The Answer DLC.

Earlier, another insider by the name of Midori, who is known for sharing details regarding upcoming Sega and Atlus projects, had also stated that Persona 6 will be released in 2025. They also said that the game will diverge from previous entries due to its development team consisting mostly of new staff members. The team envisions the game’s direction as a fusion of elements from Persona 3 Reload and Persona 5 spin-offs. Additionally, personnel from both Persona 3 Reload and the Persona 5 spin-offs are involved in the development of Persona 6, with some overseeing the project.
