This is in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle. The company I work for built the building around the house. The house was owned by an old lady named Edith (who was a spy in WWII). Unlike in the movie, which was inspired by this house, she became great friends with the contractors superintendent. The real Up house

However, scriptwriting and production on Up began in 2004, two years before Macefield's refusal to sell to the property developers.
