Blackbird service in the dead of night…

I've been searching for an old article in an engineering magazine in the early 90s after the SR71s were declassified. It described all the challenges of manufacturing and maintaining the SR71s and the issues they ran into because of the high temperatures achieved during flight. For instance, the local water supply had varying levels of chlorine throughout the year and they discovered metal quenched in the water had different failure rates as a result. They also had to use tools made of a specific material (I assume titanium) because tools with chromium would leave enough material to cause degradation over time. It was a really interesting article. Anyone else see that article?

SR-71 is legit like a Star Wars spaceship.

Undoubtedly it’s appearance had an impact on sci fi space ships (and other cool looking real aircraft)
