For anyone wondering what this is about, and doesn’t want to read the barely-coherent, rambling article on the cancerous website that OP linked, here is a clear and straightforward write up.
TLDR: The guy in the picture is a blogger (calling him a journalist would be charitable) who helped break a story about alleged police corruption in Boston. He was arrested for witness intimidation after confronting people involved in that story.
It really does look like Karen Read may be being framed for murder by Boston Police.
— a) The victim has injuries consistent with being in a fight, not with being hit by a car.
— b) The police officers involved hid the fact that there was someone at the party who had previously harassed the victim, and who was also the ring bearer at one of the police officer’s daughter’s wedding.
— c) One of the officer’s girlfriends googled how long it would take someone to freeze to death 4 hours before supposedly anyone found the victim frozen to death outside. The officers are arguing that this timestamp is related to when the tab on the phone was opened, not when the Google search was made (this will be easy to verify, but the article doesn’t have that information).
— d) Damage to Karen’s car is the main piece of physical evidence against Karen, and one of the officers was caught lying about the time that they towed Karen’s car, meaning that they had opportunity to tamper with the car. The officer says that this incorrect information that he put on his police report was just a mistake, not an intentional lie and to trust him that he was not alone with the car.
The guy in the picture here helped break this story (and is advocating for Karen Read), however he is genuinely a scumbag who is clearly guilty of harassment and witness intimidation.
