I wonder how much energy is needed to power this whole place?

You must have been at the very top. Here’s a different view with video from the 300s. https://imgur.com/a/5G7wagp

I just saw the show a few days ago.

I'm not a huge U2 fan at all, I don't hate them but don't particularly like them aside from some of their hits, just treated my mother to it as a birthday gift.

But I am into visuals, I work in the field and appreciate a good show.

- The venue itself I thought was awesome, I was pretty close to the top/back and it was nothing like a nosebleed seat, the sound quality was incredible and I'd argue with the view of the whole thing it might actually be better up there, but of course if you're there to see the band it's better to be closer.

- The band doesn't appear so far away when you're there, a lot of the photos/videos you see online are from really wide lenses on the phones so everything is distorted, sure it's a big venue but not dissimilar to MSG I would say.

- The screen is honestly incredible. There is no aliasing or flickering, you can't see the panels most of the time and you can't see any pixels. I cannot wait to see what people do with this in the future.

- The visuals for the show were mixed in quality honestly, The opening Elvis piece is by far the best, incredibly detailed tapestry of roto'd elements from various clips, old footage, movies etc, like a Cyriak animation almost. This ending piece in the pic above is also incredible, it's a static image, but it's so well done and in such high quality it's really incredible to just be there. I didn't take any drugs as I was with my mother but I really felt some sort of vibe at the end like I'd died and gone to heaven. A bunch of the visuals during the bulk of the show were fairly standard concert style images - using live feed of the show to do some simple effects and overlays. I kinda thought there would be more to it considering it was the first big opening of the venue, but at the end of the day it is about U2 so I think it was probably a good idea for the fans to keep it focused on the band for the most part and not just a visual spectacle for 2-3 hours.

It was expensive (500 bucks per ticket I paid in the end) but for me was totally worth it.
