I had someone do that to me once.

When I was a child, my aunt and uncle hated that I read so much, so I was restricted to reading the Bible alone for about 4 years.

The end result of that was a solid core of atheism and a very good understanding of the Bible.

So, when I was invited to a Bible Study at age 23, I went with enthusiasm.

I was disinvited to ever coming back again. I think the tipping point was where I was talking about how God told the Israelite former slaves to massacre the vast majority of the people living in Canaan, the 'Promised Land' that God gave to them.

We get one every few months. I wouldn't sweat it.

On another note, why does a religion that only allows so many people into heaven be recruiting new members? Is it money? Probably money.

EDIT: typo

Once the lockdown hit for COVID-19, the JWs moved from going door-to-door like mandated by the church, to sending out letters. They're usually hand written.

The sender gets the time spent writing you credited as if they went to your door.

The sender has to pay for supplies and postage.

It's super easy to find the names of residents online if you know the house number.

I get them too. It's creepy. It reminds me when I worked in newspaper journalism and I would get the random, multi-page, handwritten letter from a prisoner.

Those often made more sense and were more believable than the JW letters
