SAN FRANCISCO -- Senator Dianne Feinstein has died at 90 years old, her office has confirmed.

"Sadly, Senator Feinstein passed away last night at her home in Washington, D.C.

Senator Feinstein never backed away from a fight for what was just and right.

Senator Feinstein was a force of nature who made an incredible impact on our country and her home state.

In 1962, she married her second husband, Bertram Feinstein, who died in 1978 of colon cancer, just months before Feinstein became San Francisco mayor.
