Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) suggested on the far-right channel Newsmax that she is looking to impeach out Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg.

Greene was discussing House Republicans’ impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden with Newsmax host Eric Bolling and the two seemed giddy at the thought of impeaching Biden, even though House Republicans have not made evidence of misconduct by Biden himself public. Greene claimed on the September 12 broadcast that “the White House is freaking out right now” even though it’ll be an uphill battle to get the House to vote on impeachment and extremely unlikely that the Senate will vote to remove Biden.

Then Bolling suggested other people to impeach.

“By the way, can you impeach other, more people than just Biden?” he said as Greene grinned. “Can you go ahead and start proceeding on, I don’t know, [Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro] Mayorkas or Secretary of Energy Grisham – [Jennifer] Granholm, I’m sorry. Or maybe [Attorney General] Merrick Garland. I mean, I think there’s a whole bunch of impeachments you could do.”

He didn’t say why he believes any of those people committed “high crimes and misdemeanors” – the Constitution’s standard for impeachment – but Greene happily shouted, “Yeah!”

“Like, Monday it will be Biden,” Bolling continued. “Tuesday it will be Mayorkas. Wednesday it will be Granholm. And Thursday it can be, you know, Pete Buttigieg. They all deserve it.”

Greene nodded as Bolling rattled off those names.

“Yeah, Eric, I have articles of impeachment on many of those people you just named, so I’m all in,” Greene said enthusiastically. “I believe in firing people.”

Greene has a long history of attacking Buttigieg. In 2022, she suggested that he and his husband, Chasten Buttigieg, go into girls’ bathrooms, presumably a reference to child sex abuse. There was no reason to accuse the Buttigieges of that and was widely condemned at the time as an attack on his sexuality.

Later that year, Greene accused Buttigieg of trying to “emasculate the way we drive” by supporting environmentally friendly transportation.

“Democrats like Pete Buttigieg want to emasculate the way we drive and force all of you to rely on electric vehicles after they shut down your great Michigan auto industry,” she said at the time.

“My sense of manhood is not connected to whether my vehicle is fueled by gasoline or whether it’s fueled by electricity,” Buttigieg fired back in a Fox News interview. “This is a practical matter.”

When the Fox host asked Buttigieg if he was “offended,” he responded: “It was a strange thing to say. To be honest, there are other members of Congress that I pay more attention to when I’m thinking about opinions that really matter or ideas that are gonna be critical to engage with.”

I wish I had Buttigieg’s clap back skill:

This won't age well.
