The launch and subsequent legacy of Cyberpunk 2077 is a complicated one. From a messy launch to a long series of patches that only incrementally improved the game, the title had a lot of issues. Despite this, many hold hope for the game and its potential and are now being rewarded. Cyberpunk sequel details have leaked, and they are fantastic if you still have any interest in these games.

The initial cyberpunk response left many wondering if they would ever see a sequel, but we will.

This game will be a significant project for CD Project Red , with many resources being thrown toward the game’s development.

Cyberpunk is a franchise that can never disappear, despite how much an owner or developer may drop the ball. It started life as a TTRPG and has always maintained a dedicated fanbase. So everyone was ecstatic when CD Projekt Red came out and said they were working on a version of Cyberpunk.

It has been a few years since the game’s release, and to say it was a bit of a disaster would be an understatement. But now we might get a sequel that will learn from its predecessor.

We have known for some time that Cyberpunk had a sequel on the radar, but the CD Projekt kept getting put off by the complicated launch and a subsequent need for multiple patches. Now we have an idea of when we will see the new game start development and how much effort will be put into it.

Most of this data came from a tweet by Rhino on Twitter, which he found on the CD Projekt Red earnings conference for Q1. This conference covered quite a bit, but the details that we are interested in were anything related to Cyberpunk and its subsequent sequel. These are giving us the basis for the Cyberpunk sequel details that have leaked.

One of the first things confirmed by this info dump is that there will indeed be a sequel for Cyberpunk 2077, but it won’t be coming anytime soon. At the conference, it was disclosed that the earliest that they would be Researching for the game would be 2024. That is a long time from now, and that is only the Researching and questioning, but there is a couple of good reasons for this.

One of these is that much of the company’s resources are still going into developing expansion material for the game. This is to expand the game and make it playable for the average player. This level of attention and detail should have been applied before the game’s release, but it wasn’t, and now the studio is still trying to catch up.

The other reason the studio may have wanted to start this in 2024 is that it gives time for the sting of the first game to fade. If the fact-finding and Research start in 2024, we could be looking at the game sometime near 2030, which is a long time from now—more than enough time for the failure of the first game’s launch to fade away.

The good news is that we also know how many CDs Projekt Red will be putting into this. We know they will put a development team of 350 to 500 developers. That is a lot o for a single project and is a marker that the studio is putting a lot of effort into the project. It is also a sign of the budget that the game will be getting, which is also a good thing.

We also know that this development will be occurring in the united states. That’s not odd, as the developer has expanded over the last few years. Some of that expansion did include making teams in the US, and I imagine they will build more on that.

We know that some of the expansion Phantom Liberty team will join the baseline development team once finished. This will add more experienced team members to the project who are already familiar with Cyberpunk.

Not all of the team will be placed on this project, though. Some of them will instead go to the new project Polaris title that the studio is also working on. This is the next entry in the Witcher series and, more than likely, the next game the studio will release.

The game is listed as a sequel to 2077, and I would say it will be a direct sequel. There is no word on how direct this will be, and given how much choice is in the first game, that might be hard to determine.

It might be possible that we could see some integration of the choices of the first game into the new title, but that could not be easy. 2077 is notoriously glitchy in the first place, and by the time this title comes out, consoles will already be on a new generation.

So this is all looking like an interesting development for the game. The studio seems to be learning its lesson from how badly the first games release went and is taking it in stride. It is nice to know that the future of this series is not over, as it has a lot of possibilities in the future. Only time will tell what the studio integrates into the game, but the fact that they are asking and learning what the audience wants is good.

That is all we have on the fact that Cyberpunk sequel details have leaked. We will be sure to keep an eye on the game’s development and let you know any more updates we find on the game.
