Had this happen to a car. My first thought was some meth head stuffed a wig up there. Pulled out what I could and, over the next few weeks, the muffler became more and more plugged until my car was running at what felt to be about 50% power. Get a new muffler so you don't do any damage or get stuck somewhere.
