For anyone here interested in improving their bird identification skills, there's a fantastic free app called Merlin that I highly recommend.
It has the ability to identify birds based on their calls or songs in addition to ID tools with description and images.
The recording software that can ID based on sound is really impressive. I've had half a dozen different bird species pop up within a minute at an active time for birds at a nature center.
It isn't flawless. It is easily fooled by a Northern Mockingbird. But it is probably 90% accurate based on the times I've used it.
