As someone from outside the US, I find this sort of thing utterly unfathomable.
Less than 40 years ago, a Republican president was calling Russia/USSR an "Evil Empire".
Now US conservatives seem to want to support and embrace totalitarian Russia, even if it is just to "own the Libs."

Do they cheer on the Taliban as well? Utterly confused about how someone ostensibly patriotic could support one of America's enemies.
