Lost my last one at 14+ years; this was about five years ago. She was healthy and I didn’t see it coming. Just came home and found that she had passed. I swore I’d never go through it again. Then Nov of 2020 a friend fostered a litter of mutts. Long story short, by Dec of 2020 I owned a new puppy. She will be two years old this Oct 6. I love her so much my heart could burst. I live fully aware that I will lose her some day, and when the day comes I will have fully seen it coming. I don’t know which is worse. I don’t know which will hurt more.
