At the edge of the sea the giant sat, his toes tickled by the waves. In these rolling hills and valley, with trees that brushed at his shins and clouds that brushed at his pate, he could have peace. The stars above were not drowned by the light of man, and the singular beacon, the celestial oracle that pierced through any cloud, always provided him with far sight into the night and out to the sea. There he sat and watched, for years upon years, then decades upon decades. At the century, his waiting still continued without reward, he laid down under the moonlight and did not rise. And now the land has claimed him as one of its own, the giant becoming the hills, his feet joining the shore, and the trees and grass his ever-green clothing for his final endless wait. But one must ponder, what was he waiting and what did the sea offer?
