My usual panoramic HDR collage. Around 5 stitched HDR images, each HDR consisting of 3 shots, for a total of 15 pics. However this is a 16/9 crop of a longer panorama that includes the Marques tower, which took 21-24 images.

I am mesmerized by this chateau. I have visited it like four times, although I normally come to the opposite bank, which is free, and in the evening. This is a morning view from the gardens. I should have arrived earlier to get shorter shadows on the façades, but traveling with a teenager has these things.

All in all I arrived before the sun hid, the river Cher flowed placid, and the swallows filled the sky, so I consider myself fortunate. I have obtained better reflecions in less windy days but I love this perspective too.

This chateau is one of the Loire valley castles, but it is peculiar in certain ways that make it both unique and my favorite. Chenonceau is both a chateau and a bridge. It is a loire Castle, but it straddles the Cher, not the Loire. And it was devised, built and protected by women.

I will return if I can. 1920x1080 wallpaper size. Enjoy : )

Credit where credit is due, you mentioned you'd have preferred shorter shadows on the facades but you're being very picky! This photo pretty much couldn't be better. Great post and thanks for the accompanying comments you left. If they wanted a publicity photo for their chateau they couldn't do better than this

Wow, that's one hell of a website you've got. Crazy high standards across the board. If I wasn't poor and saving for my first holiday in a decade this July I'd get a couple
