image for Colorado now guarantees the right to abortion in state law

Getting an abortion without government interference is now guaranteed in Colorado after Gov. Jared Polis signed a bill Monday enshrining that right in state law.

The legislation ensures the right to abortions as well as other reproductive care before and after pregnancy, and it would ban local and state governments from interfering in that care.

It also would prevent a fertilized egg, embryo or fetus from having independent rights under state law.

Colorado joins 15 other states and the District of Columbia that have codified abortion into law with the signing of the “Reproductive Health Equity Act.”.

Prior to this new law, Colorado didn’t have any gestational restrictions on abortions, but it didn’t have any guarantees, either.

“The bill does not make any changes to the current legal framework for parental notification that exists in state law.

Esgar said she believes these types of resolutions are mostly symbolic because “we have now said in the state of Colorado you cannot prevent women from accessing abortion care for reproductive health care. »

Chastened by Putin’s gross violation of norms, democracies will band together in a muscular reaffirmation of the liberal international order.

But it will neither reshape the global order nor presage an ideological showdown of democracies against China and Russia.

The varied responses to the war muddle any vision of U.S.-aligned democracies pitted against Russian-aligned autocracies. »

Nicolas Cage screams for 10 hours straight: The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent

Authored by joblo.com

Nicolas Cage has officially reached what I’d like to think is peak Cage, with Lionsgate streaming, right now, a livestream of the actor screaming for ten hours straight.

Of course, Cage isn’t really sitting somewhere screaming for ten hours (impossible for most mortal men – but possibly not for Cage?).

No, he embraced the chaos that is Nicolas Cage by delivering one of the best performances of his career in Pig and starring as HIMSELF in The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. »
