Within days, Ukrainian defenders have pushed Russian troops 70 kilometres away from the capital.

While it is evident that Russian forces have made virtually no progress towards Kiev in the past week, and some of the success of the counter-offensives is utterly plausible; looking at a map with a 70km ruler, I'm having trouble guessing what area he could be talking about.
