Have you looked into digitizing it?

I recently came across a cassette I recorded in 1981 on a vacation trip to visit extended family. I was 12 and fascinated with my new "portable" recorder and wanted to get some use out of it. The recording had grandparents, aunts, and uncles on it that are now long gone. They were noticeably annoyed at having a recorder constantly shoved in they faces but I wouldn't change a thing at this point. I digitized it and shared it with siblings. It's now a family treasure.

Here is the link to the Dropbox for those that are interested. The audio is not the best but it’s definitely because of the cheap recorder we borrowed from my Mom’s work in 2000. I wish the questions were deeper and more meaningful but they were the best 10 year old me had to ask. At the time I still lived under the illusion that Grandpa would always be there to ask questions whenever I wanted.

Edit: Grandpa died a little over a year after this recording was made. It is without question my favorite and most meaningful school project I ever completed.
