Here appears to be the source of this image and title. Credit to /u/AnonymousUser02 (aka EverydayRenegades on Instagram). They provide the following :

I'll do my best to provide a little context behind this photo... the girl pictured comes from a fairly broken home. Her father left, mother abandoned her and she basically turned to hustling as a means to make money (because as a culture that's what we glorify and in turn fail people because of it). With no foundation and a sheltered heart she feels pretty alone and the streets are all she knows.

That's what this is. There's a caption on my IG post that describes it in poem form with accompanying shots as well

Thank you all

Question from someone who grew up in sprawling suburbia:

What makes a NYC bodega different from a regular convenience store that you might find by a gas station in rural or suburban areas (or a 7-11)?

And do cities other than NYC have bodegas, or is it exclusively an NYC thing. I haven't ever lived long term in big built up cities (I have visited or lived near Rochester, Syracuse, Washington DC, Charleston, Cinci, Indy, and Philly). I think I've seen small convenience stores in these places, but they've never been referred to as a bodega.
