Better caption would be "Tehran before the revolution." Just like a image of SoHo would not be representative of America on average, these type of images certainly were not of Iran.

This was in Tehran, which was and still is liberal leaning (relatively) like all major cities in the world. The rest of Iran were conservative and wore what a lot are forced to wear today. These posts are dumb. This is like saying NYC is representative of the US.

You forgot to mention that before the islamic revolution, Iran was lead by a puppet government put in place by US and UK because Iran had oil.
