I was a teenager at the time and at a friend's house for a NYE party. As we counted down to midnight and hit ZERO my friend's dad flipped the main power breaker of the house. The few brief seconds of uncertainty from the crowd were hilarious until someone pointed out we could see the neighbor's lights thru the curtains.

I remember my dad going around patching systems, mostly industrial around that time if I remember correctly.
