I had a boss who would call you into his office and have a conversation without telling you someone was listening on his speakerphone. I quit after it happened to me the first time.

My SO got offended after the umpteenth time I answered the phone “hey you’re on speaker.”

She said it insinuates I’m hiding something or that the other person talks shit about them. The very next time her sister calls, SO answers the phone on speaker and says “hey. What’s up.”

Sister says “oh nothing just taking a dump and wanted to chat.”

Kind of the opposite, and I'm sure it was done as a "power move" to show off to a client, but I worked for a guy who was talking to a client who was annoyed the work we were going to do for her wasn't done yet.

The guy acts like he's putting the client on hold and starts calling me out for not having things done yet. I reminded him that, because money was tight, he had me focus on some other clients instead since this one had paid upfront and we needed to bring in more money quickly.

His face goes beet red and suddenly there's a click sound from the phone. The client wasn't on hold. The client was on speaker because he wanted them to hear him blame me and they ended up hearing everything I said.

Not only was he horrible at running his business, but he was also quick to throw me under the bus to make himself look good. I didn't work there for much longer after that.
