Happened to me today in work, fair enough I work in a popular cafe in a popular holiday town in Ireland so we get so many people in all the time.. apparently he was best friends with my brother in law when they were in primary school.. he said he was supposed to be at the wedding.. so was i but covid happened.. theres only 1.5 degrees of separation in ireland I reckon
A couple of years ago, I was working at a grocery store in Florida. A couple came through my line who were from Oklahoma. I ask where and the woman said Norman. I mention that my cousin used to live in Norman, but now lives in OKC. I also mention where he works. The woman says that she works there too. Turns out that my cousin is her IT guy.
I was wearing a super obscure band shirt in a grocery store in Utah and later at a completely different band's concert a couple came up to ask if I was wearing that band shirt at the grocery store.
(This band literally played one show together at a festival in Illinois).
Turns out they were at that same show and when we played the "where you from" game he found out I went to college on the east coast. So the guy just starting naming random names and legit name-dropped 3 of my top 5 best friends. Turns out he grew up with them in Jersey. We sent Snapchats to them from the concert.
Ended up introducing him to his future wife, my neighbor at the time.
