Norway does still use "gresk" for the adjectivial form and the language, though. If you are from Hellas, you are gresk.

And from what I can tell, the change from Grekenland to Hellas in the Norwegian language was a relatively recent change (1930s).

The Persians were first in contact with the Ionian Greeks, so they called Greece Yunan. Its the same way that the Greeks called Iranian people Persians because of the Pars region.
