You gotta love the guy, between his father and Bianchi he went through a lot when he was really young. He really deserve to achieve great results, my hopes for Ferrari in the next few year are high, I believe they'll do good with the new regulations.
I can see why he’d do that. I’ve been in a similar position and if you never have, it’s painfully difficult to tell someone bad news when they have maybe only days or even hours left. I don’t think anyone would have thought ill of his actions even if he hadn’t eventually signed to Ferrari.
