I filed with OLT, both state and federal, and their software was better than both TurboTax and h&rblock. If you don't qualify for free file it's $9.95. I'll never go back to h&r block or pay TurboTax again.

ETA: To try to answer the questions -- H&R Block charged me almost $500 dollars last year and I paid nothing this year. I file a joint return and two different state returns. The states I live, work, and am a resident of are all different and then I have multiple 1099s as well as real estate. My husband is active duty military. I had no issues mostly because nothing is "hidden" or behind a weird pay wall. If it's any type of income then there's a place for it under the income tab, etc, like it should be lol. The only thing I could possibly list as a "flaw" is when you input like 1099s it defaults to state of residency, so you have to make sure you change it at the top.

You don't need anything to sign up for an account so you can check it out if you're interested. The have customer service live chat if you hate the phone like I do and can't find the answer to your question. You'll be able to view your previous returns filed through OLT anytime you need to. I hope this helps someone next time!

For a country that hates taxes so much, having a tax tax is confusing. ‘Big Accounting’ lobbyists must really hold large sway in Washington
