I got hired for what was advertised as a 4day/10hr shifts forklift job. On the first day I walk into the team meeting and the dept manager says 'since it's your first day, you don't have to work 12 hours'. I stopped her right there and tell her I accepted a 4/10 job. She informs me that lift drivers are working mandatory 6days/12 hours for the foreseeable future because the company is so understaffed due to Covid. I told her I have no need or desire to work 30+ hours of mandatory o.t. for any company at any pay rate, so thanks but no thanks, and I walked out. FedEx just delivered my check for 11 hours of orientation and training. Nobody said a word about the mandatory o.t. until we got to the floor.

Reported ENDLESS families on Au Pair websites for this. Worst part is, the families trying to pull this are usually trying to pull it on some poor 18 year old that barely speaks English (if they speak any). I also ran into a few families that insisted you hand your passport over to them “For safe keeping”.
