All my student loans defaulted and went to collections because I couldn't pay them, and I was living in another country for a while and couldn't arrange payments. I doubt this program will be able to help me, but at least young people won't have to go through what I did.
Edit: Why do you keep saying I want a handout? I made it clear that I know I'm not eligible for this program. But I would still wholeheartedly endorse using my tax dollars for it. I know, it's crazy right? Wanting social programs to exist that won't even benefit myself.

$50k would cover more than my original balance. But I’ve been paying every month for 11 years (never missed a payment!) and now I owe $74k.
