Have a feeling Derick will wait until the outcome of Pests arrest and then he will spill all the tea of what went on behind closed doors.

I agree with this. Not everyone has it cut out to be a revolutionary. Most just quietly do their own thing when they leave.

Can you imagine finding out that Jim Bob is making millions off of what you think is missionary propaganda, then making you be sufficiently humble and grateful to get a small piece back? Your whole childhood and life laid bare for all to see and he lives like a pompous king and judges grown women for wearing pants, but welcomes a sex criminal oldest son in like he's the heir to the kingdome.

I can't imagine finding this out and not distancing yourself. Jim Bob is insufferable, and the oldest kids are old enough to figure out he's a toole.

Honestly what he is saying mirrors the more sensible people in this sub - based on how each couple makes their money, their situation with housing, their children...it's not all the same calculation! Even if they want to leave, it may have to happen differently or look different! Jeremy and Derick have had external experiences whereas some of the other spouses seem way more "in," so that alone would seem to make a difference. Both people wanting to leave matters, too. And, they've seen Jill be ostracized - you'd have to be ready for that, too. It makes sense it cannot be automatic but I hope that Jill is an example of it being possible and that everyone finds their own way, however it looks for them.

Anyone acting like they can just leave at the drop of a hat and automatically do a 180 to become a progressive leftie is really misunderstanding and underestimating how insular and evil this environment is.
