In Gladiator (2000), Maximus tells Lucius that his horses’ names were Argento and Scatto. According to Ridley Scott, Russell Crowe came up the names as an in-joke - loosely translated, Argento and Scatto in Italian mean “Silver” & “Trigger”, the names of the horses of The Lone Ranger and Roy Rogers
