had a regular so regular, we just called his half turkey sandwich on whole wheat, no mayo 'the bobwich', and I only needed to write a 'B" on the ticket, and meet him at the table to find out which soup he wanted.
one time, I managed to spot him on his way, and put in the ticket early, and got the sandwich to his usual spot under a glass cake bell. his look of shock made my day.
edit: and it's been 25 years, and I still remember his usual order.
I've been bringing my 11 year old daughter to Bob Evans every Friday to play UNO since 2014. We have the same server everytime and the first time he said, "You want your usual?" it really made my day. Now, ironically, the usual thing I ordered is no longer in the menu but they still make it for me every week!
