Full disclosure; i’m a former medical professional who is 100% pro vaccine. What this tweet is saying is completely correct. That said, there is a worrying trend with this and the Astra-Zeneca where there are occurrences of blood clots. I’m not saying we shouldn’t use them, get vaccinated, it’s our best hope against the virus. But we do need to understand why this is happening.
I was all set for my One and Done J&J shot today. I have Crohn's and sometimes leaving the house is a pain in the ass, so I was looking forward to just a onetime deal.
Another thing to consider is that, out of 7 million women taking hormonal birth control pills, about 210 will get a dangerous blood clot. We pretty universally consider that an acceptable level of risk.
