The Daily Populous Friday April 9th, 2021 night edition
today I got my first completely negative drug test!! went from using daily for five months to quitting cold turkey, and this is my first time completely clean and sober in over four years. it's gonna be an uphill battle, but I'm proud of where I am today
Yo dont lie to yourself about being clean. Your other posts state otherwise. Don't kid yourself. You will create a false reality and it will lead you down an even worse road. Im 2.5 months sober off the benzos. Lie to us all you want but don't lie to yourself
Edit: a lot of people are misinterpreting what I've said. I want this girl to stay sober for the rest of her life. Look how young she is. However, unless you have been an addict you won't understand why the tough love shit is necessary for recovery
OP’s post aside. For anyone trying to get clean What helped me was the realization that introducing a drug into your body also introduces that drug into your mind. Into your consciousness. Your inner narrator who drives your impulses can now be taken over by the new voice. The voice of the drug. That voice is the most convincing and most destructive voice you’ll ever encounter. But if you frame you’re cravings as “that’s the drug voice wanting to stay alive” it might help you work past the cravings. If you understand the craving is just the voice of the drug and not your true self, it just may help. Worked for me with opioids specifically. Hope this helps someone else.
