Money can't buy happiness, but lack of money can cause stress and anxiety.
As someone who grew up poor, was poor through my 20's and most of my 30's, and is now successful and financially stable. There is a huge weight lifted when money is no longer an issue. I mean, I'm not rich. But I can actually afford my life for once.

Money may not be able to buy you happiness but it can certainly buy you the absence of misery.
If all your basic needs are taken of to a high standard, it is much easier to live a healthier, more dignified, and yes, happy life.
