Can someone explain this for me? I thought in the US a parent had to give consent for any medical procedure on their child under 18. Are there medical procedures minors can consent to dependent of their parents? (I get how this consent requirement could get problematic in the case of abortion, but I’m just curious in general.)

There was a bill in Texas that would make someone having an abortion subject to the death penalty.
They're so pro-life that they will kill you for having an abortion.
