Pretty bad when you have to build a table and chairs before you can sit down and eat

I once got my tax refund and bought a grill and the person in the store ask me if I wanted the display model or one new one in the box and I said I wanted the one in the box (terrible mistake)

This was at like 10 am

I invited my father-in-law to some steaks at noon for lunch and I thought to myself "okay I get home I assemble this grill and and throw some steaks on there"

I did not know grills were that complicated to put together lol, my father-in-law (and I was just starting to date his daughter at that point) had to sit down with me in the backyard for two and a half hours under the sun while we assembled the grill we ended up having those steaks for dinner at like 8:00 p.m.

I was embarrassed, because it kind of seemed like I invited him over to help me assemble the thing. But in the end he seemed to be cool bout it. His daughter is now my wife.

Lol. My mom doesn’t even pretend anymore. She just tells me what job she has and asks what I want her to cook.
