Hi, former GameStop employee here. I can explain why at some points if the year new copies of games are cheaper than their pre-owned counterparts. When the new games get marked down, it is considered a "vendor sale", which means that whatever publisher/supplier provides new copies of a game allows for that game to be sold for cheaper, where GameStop corporate typically determines prices for pre-owned games and they don't usually fluctuate during sales because these copies were trade ins that GameStop still needs to profit from. Also, for those confused that the price of the game is abnormally high for the current day, you can see on the price stickers that the picture was taken probably around 2017-ish.
