Given the amount of layoffs expected in aerospace in 2021... might be best to aim for non-aero roles.

Keep going man.
I was laid off back in April. Unemployed since then. Had a handful of interviews, but otherwise nothing. Then within 20 minutes I got 2 calls from 2 different hiring managers at my old company offering positions.
