My housemate's ex wants all three daughters to visit her for Christmas. We're in a state with mask mandate. The mother lives a few states away where nobody wears masks. Absolutely none of them want to go and mom is guilt tripping them.
It's a complete failure of national leadership that this could end up in political humor. How in the hell did Trump's GOP manage to make a pandemic political?! I work in a COVID ICU and have been watching people suffer and die alone for months. Some families still don't believe what's going on with their loved ones. Some ICU nurses arent planning to get vaccinated, despite what they've seen. I can't help but be pessimistic about 2021. If folks in these positions won't do what needs to be done, then what hope is there?
