I hate that shit forreal. Then they're going to turn around and take credit for it talking about "We were able to raise X amount of dollars for this program. See we're not evil, we care." Then write it off on taxes so the community can pay for it twice.

Retail stores do this too. They ask you to round up for various causes, but I always say no.

I don’t know where that money will go and so can’t get a tax credit for it ... so nah - I’m good.

Jeff Bezos has donated 125 Million dollars of his own money to charity.

That is the equivalent of someone with a net worth of $250,000 donating about $250, or a younger person with a $10,000 net worth donating $10.

Fun fact: Warren buffet plans to donate 85% of his wealth to charity upon his passing. He will leave 7% to his family - still, each family member can expect over $1 Billion dollars. Dude is filthy rich.

Edit: To those misunderstanding: I’m saying he has donated a ton of money, and more than most will donate on that relative scale.
