Reddit hive mind is responsible for the death of Sean Collier. That's the security guard they killed while trying to flee.
Reddit was so caught up in trying to find the bomber, they not only accused a person who had committed suicide before the bombing, but they forced the FBIs hand to release information.
By accusing the guy who was already dead, people started doxxing him and his family. They got death threats. The FBI didn't have that guy on their radar at all but they did have the real bombers on their radar.
So to make the internet stop harassing this family, they released the information they had. Which was promptly posted everywhere.
The bombers saw their own faces on the news and fled. While fleeing, they killed Sean.
