I dunno what people think the homeless are supposed to do with the money they get. If you slept outside on the gound and had to beg for food you'd wanna be high too.
I give them money, hoping they buy food, or use it for shelter. If they buy drugs or alcohol that's their choice. The next day I'll give them money again hoping that one day they can choose sobriety.
At the end of the day, even at the end of the year, the money I gave them wasn't missed by me. Either I would have spent it on takeaway or beer, so they can have it instead because they need it more.
Speaking from a place of immense privilege, I can't waste my time judging people when I know that my money goes to the same things as theirs.

If I buy drugs with my money, I get to have fun with it. If someone else buys drugs with my money, it's a waste of my money.
