I said I would call the cops when she hit me, and again when she stabbed me with a pair of scissors. She very clearly told me that she'd give herself bruises and say I did it. I didn't contact the authorities because I knew I'd be the one to go to jail. It was a paralyzing fear that I'm still working through even though we've been split since March. Awareness matters so the next man like me doesn't have to hide being abused.
