I saw this same level of carvings on corals off the coast of nature reserves in Thailand. Couldn't read any of it because it was all Chinese.

At least it's bamboo, a fast growing plant that can be replaced with another easily. But I hate when assholes carved their birthday or their girlfriend's name into an ancient cave or other such natural landmark. Yeah, thanks asshole, for permanently uglifying a beautiful landmark, so can tell your girlfriend how badass you are.

Edit because people seem to think I have a problem with ancient cave paintings.

Everyone is falsely equating two very different things here. Cave paintings illustrate the point in our development when we reached a huge evolutionary milestone. We had nothing else to write or paint on that would last. These are important landmarks to us BECAUSE of what they represent.

This is very different from what is happening here.

In fact, I'm adding this into my original comment.

I had bamboo in the back of my house growing up. Shit grows so fast it doesn’t matter how many people touch it
