Something to say about the Endgame female hero team-up scene complaints. Also, comic book fan pandering, of course.

Wasn’t there an alternative scene that never made it past concept art that had Captain Marvel wounded by one of the gunships before the A-Force assembled? That would have been much better.

EDIT: just to clarify, she’s still in the scene, but the focus switches from the gauntlet per se to protecting Carol. The women form a protective barrier around her, led by Pepper.

as a woman who loves comic book movies. it’s entirely cringy to me, not because it’s women or whatever but because it’s framed as this ‘big feminist moment’ from a studio that doesn’t really care about their female actresses/characters enough for the first solo female movie to come out ten years after the mcu started and to not even be that good (like it was supposed to be feminist too, but it framed sexism as a thing that happened sometimes and not a systemic issue which is what a lot of #girlboss movies/shows do) the reason why i was frustrated by the scenes in endgame and infinity war is because they had no substance. they weren’t saying anything about feminism, women, the characters, or anything. it was a cheap shot to make the comic book girls feel like marvel doesn’t hate them while they continually push female characters to the sidelines.
