One time an employee at my job had a heart attack mid-day and when I called to reschedule the appointment the customer was SO pissed even after I explained. This was after SHE had rescheduled twice.

I worked at an Apple store for a few years. One day, a customer had a heart attack in the middle of our store. We were one of the smaller footprints and had no interior walls, so everyone saw.

We had a couple of customers bitch and moan about us emptying out the store so paramedics could come in and perform life saving treatment. They sat there bitching about how much money they were spending and how they had things to do. If memory serves me correctly, they were in the accessory section buying headphones maybe 10-15 feet away from the guy.

A few months later, the exact same thing happened in the exact same section of the store. Again, some other people complained about having to leave.

Both times the customers survived. Once because the mall had fast response from paramedics. The second time, a customer had the attack at a workshop and had a doctor sitting next to him. That doctor got to work immediately and saved his life.

You really do see some spectacular bullshit working retail. Some people are incredibly selfish and arrogant pricks. And dear god they’re assholes on Black Friday.
