One day while pregnant with me, my mom asked him "what if he's gay?" And he roared about how that was impossible and no son of his will be gay!!! And my mom retorted "but what if he is?"
It took him several days, but he came to the conclusion that if I was gay, he would love me just the same.
I'm not gay, but the man that raised me was raised homophobic and racist. He didn't raise me that way, and I'm as grateful as I am proud.
