I think this applies to more than just medical procedures, but solid advice.

Edit: recently had a friend that had a bad breakup and the following day was a anniversary of the death of a loved one... needless to say she wasn’t very open about it with most.

I'm pregnant for the first time and had to leave work early on Monday for my first ultrasound. A coworker kept pressing me about why I was going to the doctor and while I tried to play it off, he eventually came to the conclusion that I'm pregnant. Fast forward to after my ultrasound, there are some concerns about the viability of the pregnancy and that coworker wants to know how it went. Really awful to have someone asking about it when things didn't go well, which is exactly why I didn't want to share with anyone from the beginning.
